Desc: The trail is a heavily used urban trail. The surface is compacted gravel, there are 10 wooded benches, an amphitheater, a viewing platform and five loops of varying lengths. The trail has been designed for multiple-use and divided into user areas. One area is designated for equestrian use and another for hikers only. The trail is also open in the winter for cross-country skiing and snow shoeing.

Desc: The Fishhook Creek Nature Trail is a boardwalk and native surface trail that leads from the Redfish Lake Visitor Center through and over Fishhook Creek. Interpretive signs along the route describe the story of the wetland and gives opportunities to see beaver activity and salmon spawning. Kokanee salmon spawn in the creek and Redfish Lake each fall. If and when endangered Sockeye salmon and reestablished in Redfisk Lake, they would also be visible during spawning. There are beautiful views of the Sawtooth peaks from the trail.

Desc: Rated easy, the trail is wide and well maintained. The Giant Red Cedar trail introduces visitors to a wet draw bottom and an old-growth cedar stand. The largest tree is designated ‘Champion Tree of Idaho’ (18 feet in diameter, 177 feet in height). Note the large cedar shattered by wind and another fallen giant that is crossed by a footbridge. Hiking time ¼ hour. This trail is closed to all motorized recreation. Paved walkways make this a fully accessible trail.

Desc: The Jackass Ridge Complex is a very popular snowmobile trail system close to a metro population of 550,000. This winter trail complex offers several loops and trailhead sites. This trail is one of 400 plus miles of winter groomed trails on two Ranger Districts. The increased use and close proximity to a large population base has created a greater interest in the trail due to its easy access close to a major highway system. A direct result has been increased parking, which at times produces a very crowded situation.

Desc: Easy hiking parallels Priest lake and crosses five streams. Many views of the lake are offered. The trail passes through dog hair stands of timber and also upon hillsides of brush. There are numerous campsites along the trail offering beaches, isolation and wind protection.
Located in Kaniksu National Forest; At Nordman, turn onto Reeder Bay Road. Approx. 4.25 miles Reeder Bay Road turns into Forest Service Road #2512. The first trailhead is located approx. .5 mile on your right and is marked “Lakeshore Trail.” Other access points can be found along the #2512 Road.
The trail can be accessed at the Beaver Creek campground located 12 miles north of Nordman. The trailhead is located south of the parking area.
